MIAMI RENDEZVOUS

I recently spent a few days in Miami in early August. It was nice to come back and get a new taste of this tropical wonderland.  I did the usual evening stroll down Ocean Drive (sipping mojitos at The Tides), shopped on Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road, and even did a small excursion to The Keys. Found this incredible vintage shop, Fly Boutique, who specializes in vintage designer labels and contemporary ones as well. I entered this vintage paradise and was overwhelmed by piles of antique chain metal handbags, beat-up black leather studded boots, and  an exquisite array of Lacroix, Alaia, and Chanel shoes.  Click here for more info.

VOGUE ITALIA JULY 2010 AVE MARIA

I know it's a little late to post this but I wanted to get this post in before the end of July. Here are stunning images of Maria Carla Boscono, an Italian vamp, who was shot by Glen Luchford for this Vogue editorial.
I was present at this shoot since I managed the studio where this was shot. It was two fun filled days of endless racks of designers samples and multiple tables stacked with ultra chic accessories.  Maria was a doll in person and overall a low maintenance shoot considering who the client was.

MANE AND CHIC FEATURE

I want to give huge thanks to Kai from mane and chic for featuring me on her site. I absolutely adore this site and love to see all types of women dealing with their curly hair.  Check it out for haircare regimen and style tips.  For full interview click here

MAXWELL IS OUR MODERN DAY MARVIN GAYE

I am still not over my Maxwell experience, I recently saw him at MSG a few nights ago and I was totally and completely floored. First of all,  he is a truly gorgeous specimen in a well cut 3 piece suit and classic shades that frame his face flawlessly.  He came out on stage owning the crowd, serenading the women, and stirring some envy amongst the men.  Slightly cocky, debonair, and extremely humble he delivered a tantalizing, seductive performance. Complete with James Brown style splits, stellar dance moves, and smooth crooning he had the audience wooing for more. I have an insatiable  appetite for Maxwell.

FOREVER 21 TIMES SQUARE LAUNCH

This trendy retail chain offers 'of the moment' pieces just opened it's doors on June 25th  in the heart of NYC. I assisted with the fashion show to launch the store. Currently stationed at the old Virgin Mega store space, this multilevel space offers four floors of affordable fashions for young recessionistas. I always thought this store was a bit on the young side but was surprised to see grown up staples. Anyhow if you're a tourist, native, or just trying to find cute items at a steal, be sure to pop in or browse their site

THE EVERLASTING POWER OF CHANEL

I'm so happy to report I have finally obtained a classic Chanel bag. I'm sure this posting may sound utterly frivolous and superficial to some but I know for die-hard Chanel lovers such as myself, this is music to our ears. This bag will forever be timeless and it's vintage so even more of a victory! My bag is circa 96-97  in black quilted lambskin leather with the double CC gold closure and a knotted strap. I adore it and it's totally transitional from day to night.  Here are some images of sophisticated  ladies flaunting their Chanel handbags.

Deitch Nostalgia 2 and 3

Spectacular Stephen Sprouse show back in Jan of 2009. Loved this retrospective of his work and finally got the Rizzoli catalogue  edited by the Padilha Brothers spanning his entire career. There will never be another like him. This show reminds me of the cult 80s film 'Slaves of New York'.

Another great show was the Dash Snow Memorial during the summer of 2009. Snow a downtown legend in the making, met a tragic end cutting his life short. Yet his body of work from photographs, collages and grafitti pieces were totally stimulating and still captured the gritty NYC we sorely miss.
