Blown away. Completely blown away by a Bert Stern exhibit called 'Jewels' at the Staley Wise gallery in Soho. I found all of my style goddesses together in one room- Audrey, Marilyn, Liz, Kate Moss and Twiggy. It was a selection of Stern's prints transformed into 'collage like' pieces with jewel encrusted and floral detailing. A stellar show all around. Also saw some other great exhibits in Chelsea like Tara Donovan at Pace, Francesco Vezzoli at Gagosian and Philip Lorca Di Corcia at David Zwirner.

One of my all time fave magazine covers is the i-D Sept 2009 issue 'Pretty Young Things'. Aside from the stunning cover which featured Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Sessilee Lopez and Arlenis Sosa, there were several fashion editorials titled from various Michael Jackson songs. ( it was a total homage!) Here is a video detailing the 'making of' process with some fun footage.
I have a thing for this girl, it has to be hard to have a superstar sister and have to go through life with the expected comparisons but to me she possesses a strong, individual personality. I really admired her single 'I've Decided' from her sophomore album ' Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams'. It had a classy, Motown-esque 6os-70s vibe to it and the video was superstylized and retro inspired. Plus she has a young son, chopped off all her hair to go natural and has endless standout style. I'm excited to see her evolution continue both musically and fashionwise. Here are images from a recent Refinery29.com interview and for full story click here
I've been on the hunt for a chic black bag and finally found one, a velvet Max Mara hobo with leather straps. A bag that is totally everyday and can transition for stylish evening outings as well. I guess I never fully appreciated Max Mara till now but it's beautifully constructed with all the Italian well made qualities. It prompted me to visit their website and see what's new. I was delighted to find an archive of all their magazine covers featuring ad campaign images and relevant news as well. Here are a few of my favorites and click here to visit Max Mara
Once again I was able to collaborate with Wes Gordon and helped organize an elegant presentation for his Fall 2011 collection. It was held at the opulent Foutainebleu banquet room at the St Regis hotel and it's gilded decor complemented the sophisticated collection seamlessly. The models stood on pedestals while Niaa a pianist performed Rolling Stones covers. Here are a few images and for entire show click here

I recently puchased a copy of Diana Ross' book 'Going Back' at the Schomburg Center in Harlem. I was totally floored and entranced by the fantastic photos of Diana Ross' style evolution through the last four decades. I know she is a fashion icon for many of us and we regard her as true queen of sophistication. I hold 'Mahogany' as part of my top five films of all time. Her street sassiness, her intriguing costume designs and finding herself in old world Europe as we all do is so inspiring to watch in this movie. I've shared a few of my favorite looks.
